ABOUT THE COLLECTION
"Awry" means unsuccessful, faulty, twisted. The collection was inspired by unsuccessful twisted pieces of wax that I molded into the desired jewelry shape after casting. The "mistake" and "failure" eventually became a wearable piece of jewellery. The title, then, refers both to the original mistake from which the collection originated, but also to a twisted way of looking at the mistakes we all make that we can easily turn into our "adornment".
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Magdalena Št'astníková graduated from the studio K.O.V. Concept - Object - Meaning at UMPRUM in Prague. Her work is characterised by an abstract organic to fluid morphology, with jewellery often extending beyond the human body and into a space beyond it. Magdalena creates jewellery that is unisex and wearable and combinable in multiple ways.
