The collection of seven vases Our Flora is an atlas of the stories of the plant world. Each vase was inspired by a different flower. Meadow flowers, tulips, roses, peonies, sunflowers, violets, flowers floating on the water. The flowers we most often long to have on our table at home... and stories. Like the peony that grew from the tears of flamingos, or the black rose whose thorns are used by hornbills to fight for their honour. "During the flowering of the pain rose, the petals precipitate moisture in the air in much greater quantities than on other plants of this species, even in the relatively dry season of the year. This is due to the low albedo of the black surface of the flowers. These dewdrops, which run off the rose flower in trickles, have given rise to many legends of the pain rose, where people in the past thought that the rose wept for dead individuals of the hornbill or lamented the pain caused by severed thorns."
