Unisex Mare ring is made of sterling silver and polished to a high shine. The structure is handmade and so each piece is original. It is a great choice for any outfit and perfect for every day.
The abstracted motif of the water surface as a reminiscence and longing for the distances denied, for the salty smell of the sea. The reflection of light on the surface of the jewel softens the formal simplicity and purity of the undulating grid, giving us a sense of the lazy, rocking movement of the shimmering sea waves.
Karla & Rudy make their jewellery by hand using traditional jewellery making techniques, all pieces are carefully constructed in their workshop in Frýdek-Místek.
Jewellery care:
- Store jewellery individually in closed boxes away from light and moisture.
- put jewellery away before going to sleep
- avoid contact with chemicals, pool or sea water
- Avoid cosmetics, perfumes and shampoos, which can creep into the jewellery and leave stains
- put jewellery on last after all cosmetics have been applied and remove it during any physical activity
- when cleaning the jewellery, use a soft brush, rinse the jewellery under running water and dry well
- check your jewellery regularly
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Karla Olšáková focuses her work on the architectural concept of her jewellery. She expresses herself using a geometric language combined with kinetic elements and architectural principles. Clean, discreet and refined, this is the characteristic of her work. At its core is an exploration of the intimate poetry of jewellery. She also creates with unconventional materials such as wood, veneer, rubber, concrete or slate.
She graduated from the K.O.V. studio at the UMPRUM in Prague under the guidance of Eva Eisler, then founded her jewellery brand, with which she was awarded numerous prizes. Her collections are now part of permanent collections in Vienna, Hamburg, New York, Bratislava and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.
