Very elegant necklace from the Cube collection is made of sterling silver and hand polished to a high shine. The base of the component is one square and a silver tube. The clean lines and precise geometry of the workmanship stand out. The necklace has a clasp that does not disturb the structure. It is a floral choice for any outfit from everyday to formal.
In the Cube collection, Karla&Rudy explore and develop the possibilities of the cube, its structure and its ways of decomposition. They further enrich the minimalist puns in a fundamental way with a kinetic element in some variations, which makes the compositions more variable.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Karla Olšáková focuses her work on the architectural concept of her jewellery. She expresses herself using a geometric language combined with kinetic elements and architectural principles. Clean, discreet and refined, this is the characteristic of her work. At its core is an exploration of the intimate poetry of jewellery. She also creates with unconventional materials such as wood, veneer, rubber, concrete or slate.
She graduated from the K.O.V. studio at the UMPRUM in Prague under the guidance of Eva Eisler, then founded her jewellery brand, with which she was awarded numerous prizes. Her collections are now part of permanent collections in Vienna, Hamburg, New York, Bratislava and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.
