In the Twisted Circles collection, Jiří Šibor explores the possibilities of broken circles in space. He creates "almost-spheres" out of split, spirally stretched and then connected circles, which are characterized by an irregular structure with internal tension that can resemble a model of an atom or the orbits of cosmic bodies. Due to the deliberately unconfined concept, the possibility of chance is given. The result is a structure that is difficult to define geometrically.
The circle, from which the works originated, can be seen as a symbol of infinity. Its transformation and fixation into a three-dimensional design becomes a subtle clue to understanding

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jiří Šibor is a contemporary Czech jewellery designer exhibiting in international museums such as the Museum of Arts and Design New-York or the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, USA. The prerequisite for his work is professional knowledge of metalworking technology and practical experience in this field. His geometrically articulated jewellery highlights the beauty of classic materials such as stainless steel, clear and coloured glass.
