Earrings from the PAPER collection are handmade from paper, stiffened with epoxy.
However, the earrings are strong and durable and suitable for everyday wear.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Paper collection is inspired by natural processes and motifs, such as the unfolding of flowers.
Some of the jewellery is reminiscent of sea creatures or exotic plants.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lucie Houdková is a graduate of UMPRUM in Prague in the K.O.V. studio under the guidance of Eva Eisler. In her work she uses unconventional materials such as gift ribbon, epoxy or paper. Her jewellery is on the border between design and art. In her own words, she designs and makes jewelry to be wearable, but she does not see it as an accessory to beautify. She sees jewellery as an object that completes the personality of its owner, but at the same time functions in its own right. It can convey a message and cross the boundary from a used object to a work of art.
