A series of ten original motifs on sheet metal, created by the artist Ivan Komárek at the license plate factory.
A two-part stamp was produced here based on his designs. The resulting sheet metal relief was hot-printed with a linear black outline and the coloured areas were glued from reflective coloured foil. This series of 'marks' fits into a context of experimentation with different materials.
Each mark has a serial number and is signed by the artist.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ivan Komárek (1956) is a Czech painter and graphic artist, he is also engaged in the creation of objects, ceramic sculpture and realizations in architecture (painting on the wall, ceramic tiles), illustrations and applied art. For Ivan Komarek, the human body is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, a laboratory of his thought processes and a motivating force of sensuality and sexuality. In his intuitive creative explorations, he deals with the very foundations of human feelings and relationships, breaking free from predetermined conventions of form or content.
