ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kateřina Matěchová is a jewellery designer who has been working in this field since 2000 and has been developing her deeply individual approach ever since. She creates both limited edition art jewellery and jewellery for everyday wear. She works with great care and attention to detail with a variety of materials. Typical for her work is the multiplication of one segment that she just falls in love with. She claims that she can be extremely patient when she gets down to work, but when the work is finished she becomes impatient. Kateřina graduated from the Prague UMPRUM in the K.O.V. studio under the guidance of Eva Eisler and Vratislav Karel Novák. She has been nominated several times for the Czech Grand Design Award and several other awards.
