Casio is a Japanese manufacturer of electronics and electronic equipment founded in 1946 by Tadao Kashio. Its main products include calculators, audio equipment, cameras, electronic musical instruments and watches. Casio rose to fame in the 1980s, when it benefited from the huge growth in popularity of electronic musical instruments and also became a respected watch brand for its innovations. The first digital and analogue watches controlled by quartz crystal were created during this period. It was the first manufacturer whose watches allowed the display of time in different time zones.
