The TEMPORE MORTUUS collection is based on the symbolism of Dutch still lifes from the 16th and 17th centuries. It means dead, stopped time; the moment of still life standing still... Insects here symbolize the ephemeral beauty of ripe fruit, fresh flowers, or life.
The insect, a symbol of transience and decay, is here elevated to an ornament.

About The Designer

Hana Vinklárková paints on the surface of porcelain under the name Artistka. Her work reflects her studies of painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, porcelain at the UMPRUM and sculpture in Finland.
